Dr. Charlotte Frank Honored at the American Friends of Yeshivot Bnei Akiva
The 35th annual Scholarship and Tribute Dinner was recently held for the American Friends of Yeshivot Bnei Akiva. Honorees Nira and Ken Abramowitz, Guests of Honor, and Dr. Charlotte Frank, recipient of the Educational Leadership Award, are each well known throughout the Jewish community. “Their contributions to the people of Israel should serve as inspiration to us,” stated Ido Aharoni, consul general. The event was in honor of the late Marvin and Renee Herskowitz a’l, whose names are linked through the dedication of the Department of Jewish Studies at Orot Yehuda, Efrat.
For over 75 years, the Yeshivot Bnei Akiva of Israel has become the largest religious Zionist educational network of schools in Israel. By teaching Jewish values and principles, the students gain a mature level of understanding of their heritage, with 73 schools servicing more than 24,000 students each year, shaping and molding the future of the Jewish State. Students come from varied ethnic and economic backgrounds, with the hope that each will go on to become leaders. #
