NEW ROCHELLE, NY, April 8, 2005 -- At its second annual celebration last night for National Student Athlete Day, The College of New Rochelle (CNR) recognized the achievements of 38 outstanding student athletes enrolled in the School of Arts & Sciences and School of Nursing, all of whom have maintained a minimum 3.0 GPA. With the help of the six Blue Angels athletic teams, CNR also conducted a successful book drive for new and gently used books for children up to age 14. The drive netted more than 85 books and surpassed last year’s premiere drive. The books were all donated to the YMCA of New Rochelle After-School Program, which serves 130 local children residing in New Rochelle.
